[新聞] 非洲M痘感染例激增 世衛考慮宣布公衛緊急事件

楊智恩世界衛生組織秘書長譚德塞（Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus）今天表示考慮召開專家會議，就目前M痘（mpox,舊稱猴痘）在非洲感染激增一事研究是否宣布國際公衛緊急狀態。
法新社報導，由於M痘病毒在鄰近國家傳播，非洲中部民主剛果的M痘病例，從去年9月以來激增。
譚德塞說，世衛組織、非洲疾病管制暨預防中心（Africa CDC）、當地政府以及相關合作夥伴紛紛著手加強應對M痘爆發。
譚德塞在社群平台X上表示，全面應對措施有賴更多資金和支持。
他說：「我正考慮召開一場國際衛生條例（IHR）的緊急會議找出建言，供我判定該否宣布M痘爆發為國際關注公共衛生緊急事件（PHEIC）。」
「國際關注公共衛生緊急事件」是世衛所能發出的最高級別警示。身為世衛秘書長的譚德塞能依據專家會議建言，決定是否宣布公衛緊急事件。
譚德塞在答覆美國「科學雜誌」（Science）期刊的聲明中還說：「病毒能透過強化公衛手段來遏止，包含監測、社區交流、治療和對高風險感染族群進行針對性部署疫苗等，我們也必須這麼做。」
M痘以前稱作猴痘，是由感染動物傳播病毒給人類而造成的傳染性疾病，會藉由親密身體接觸在人與人之間傳播。
