18歲的西班牙超級新秀Alcaraz，在邁阿密男單決賽的對手是挪威一哥Ruud，兩人都是生涯首度打進ATP1000分級大師賽決賽，Alcaraz第7局和第11局接連破發，以7：5搶下第一盤。第二盤Alcaraz乘勝追擊很快就取得3:0的領先。
Alcaraz最終就以七比五，六比四直落二擊敗Rudd，成為邁阿密大師賽37年以來最年輕的冠軍。Alcaraz賽後表示，很高興在邁阿密和所有有支持他的人一起贏得冠軍，能夠贏得生涯第一個1000分等級冠軍，
